Zemen Insurance Share Company (ZISC) is a Private Insurance Company which was established by 926 shareholders and registered at Ministry of Trade and Industry on January 24, 2020, and obtained nonlife or general insurance license by National Bank of Ethiopia on January 17/2020. The company has started insurance operation as of June 5/2020.
In the year ended June 30, 2024 ZISC actualized GWPI of Birr 545.3 million, which accounts 84% of the target and 67% above the previous year and Earning Per Share increased to Birr 3,744 (74.89%) from Birr1,587 (31.7%) the previous year. Similarly Total Asset, paid-up capital and profit before tax registered Birr 961.5 million, 234.2 million and 181.3 million, respectively.
Zemen Insurance Company provides the following services insurance to its customers
- GENERAL; General Insurance also called non-life insurance: This category includes property and liability.
- LIFE; Zemen Insurance S.C is not providing life insurance products. It is working on a project to launch life insurance by mid-2026.
